Horst Rittel coined the term ‘wicked problem’.
Wicked Problems describe problems which are multidimensional and extremely complex. Wicked problems are difficult or impossible to solve perfectly.
- Difficult to define.
- Complex systems.
- Difficult to know how to approach.
- Difficult to know whether you have been successful.
Wicked Problems can now be called as ‘complex socio-technical systems’.
Examples: Climate change, world peace etc.
